Energizing No Hit Zones: Uplighting Prevention Conference & Expo
No Hit Zone has quickly emerged as a low cost and effective child abuse prevention strategy.
A No Hit Zone is a comprehensive initiative that includes multiple strategies to effectively influence attitudes, norms, and behaviors. No Hit Zone signage and materials communicate no hitting expectations. As a No Hit Zone site, all leadership and staff members are trained in conflict de-escalation and positive intervention techniques. This allows them to practice and model the new norm of “not hitting”, thus creating safe spaces for all children and adults. No Hit Zones change former “bystander’ cultures to places where staff armed with knowledge can intervene to prevent harm and educate all who interact with and care for children. Schools, hospitals, religious institutions, businesses, communities, and many more can join the movement to address the most prevalent risk factor of physical child abuse.
The conference will be held in-person at the University of Texas at Austin in Austin Texas.
All sessions will be held in Patton Hall. Our agenda will be developed using registrants’ feedback on what is most important to them. Seating is limited.
