Public Awareness Campaigns

Our Public Awareness Campaigns

People must become aware of the extent of the problem.

No Hit Zone

Champions for Children: Prevent Child Abuse Hampton Roads is proud to introduce “No Hit Zone,” a successful program to help maintain a calm, safe and caring environment for children, parents, families, staff and guests in public places.

Become Aware- Be a Champion

The unveiling of the campaign in early Fall, 2016 will kick off a Hampton Roads public media audio/video effort to voice statements of reality to all citizens in a message of impact. Regional leaders will speak as a Champion on radio, social media and television and give “Did You Know” statements about abuse in Hampton Roads.

Who will champion the effort? Will you join the campaign?

Champions Awards event

The 2015 Champions Awards event in October showcased community leaders that work as child advocates in different areas – Education, Law, Medicine, Public Safety, Government, and Human Services.
In 2015, the keynote speaker was Lieutenant Governor Ralph Northam who spoke on the importance of the work of abuse prevention. Over 300 were in attendance.
