Public Awareness Campaigns

Our Public Awareness Campaigns

People must become aware of the extent of the problem.

No Hit Zone

Champions for Children: Prevent Child Abuse Hampton Roads’ major project is No Hit Zone, a public awareness campaign that establishes safe public places for children and adults and discourages the use of physical punishment of children.

Bells of remembrance and hope

Bells of Remembrance and Hope is an April (Child Abuse Prevention Month) project of Champions for Children. Each year, we invite faith organizations throughout Hampton Roads to ring their bells to remember children whose lives were lost to abuse or neglect the previous year. During the first Sunday in April, we pray, remember those lost, and share the message of prevention and hope together as a community.
